Reading in Sunshine

CHILDREN are being encouraged to read over the summer holidays.

The Summer Reading Challenge aims to get children aged between four and eleven to read by signing up at their local library and reading at least six books over the holidays.

Those who successfully complete the challenge will be rewarded with prizes and their schools will be entered into a draw to win a visit from a famous child actor.

Children’s development librarian for Leeds City Council, Lorraine Lee said, “The Summer Reading Challenge is firmly established as a great fun way of encouraging children to keep up their reading while they are on their summer break.”
